Whit and Colby grew up religious, surrounded by expectations of what marriage should look like. When they committed to one another, they chose presence over performance.

Their day began quietly — waking up together, cooking eggs, bathing, smoking cigarettes, welcoming friends into their artistic apartment. Whit transformed her mother’s wedding dress into something uniquely her own. Colby wore whatever felt right. Their dog stayed close.

With a few of their favorite people, they drove into the desert and exchanged vows without titles, government, or tradition — only intention.
